How to fill in the time card
- Write the week and the date for each day you work.
- Write each time as it happens, with AM or PM, to the minute. Leave the lunch columns blank on days without an unpaid lunch.
- Total each day: (lunch out − time in) + (time out − lunch in). A shift that ends after midnight ends the next day.
- Total the week and write hours over 40 as overtime if you are paid overtime.
To skip the arithmetic, enter the times in the timesheet calculator, which uses the same four punches per day, or the time card calculator. To keep a running history of every week without paper, use the weekly pay tracker.
